Gary Linder

CLASSICAL PIANO , JAZZ, POP, ACOUSTIC GUITAR, ELECTRIC GUITAR, BASS GUITAR, SAXOPHONE. 

Gary started studying piano at the age of 8, added woodwinds when he was 15, then included guitar and piano to his repertoire.

From the 80.s until 2017,   Gary taught music at Lindsay Place High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music at McGill University. While at Cap, Gary made a name for himself both at the school and in the vibrant Montreal jazz scene, working with some of the city’s top musicians.

For the last several years he has been performing, teaching as a freelance musician . 

Gary has taught privately for over a decade – teaching piano, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar, to students of all ages. Progressive rock, Rock & blues is Gary's specialty. He focuses on creating and enjoying music while also prioritizing theory and the fundamentals of music as well as instrumental technique. A recent favorite amongst his students to learn is pop guitar, in which he focuses on the styles rock & blues  He is also experienced in teaching students to perform vocals while playing the piano.

He loves working with students of varying backgrounds and skill sets and is very adaptable, accommodating particular interests and expectations from students of all ages.
