From the 1980's until 2017,  Gary taught music at Lindsay Place High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music at McGill University. Gary made a name for himself both at the school and on the vibrant Montreal jazz scene, working with some of the city’s top musicians. For the last several years he has been performing and teaching as a freelance musician.

Gary has taught privately for over a decade – teaching piano, saxophone, clarinet, guitar, bass guitar, to students of all ages. Progressive rock, rock & blues are Gary's specialties. He focuses on creating and enjoying music while also prioritizing theory and the fundamentals of music as well as instrumental technique.

He is also experienced in teaching students to perform vocals while playing the piano.

He loves working with students of varying backgrounds and skillsets and is very adaptable, accommodating particular interests and expectations from students of all ages.

Gary is fluent in both English and French.
