Sofia-Marie Bergeron is a Canadian violinist from Montreal.

 

She studied the violin at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal.                                   

In 2010 she moved to Europe to study with violinist Silvia Marcovici at the Haute École de musique de Lausanne, Switzerland (Bachelor of Arts in Music 2011) with the highest mark in violin) then in Austria at Kunstuniversität Graz.

 

She also studied with Salvatore Accardo at Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy (where she received twice the “Diploma di Merito”) and three years at the Walter Stauffer Accademia in Cremona.

From 2013 to 2016 Sofia-Marie joined the International Menuhin Music Academy to work with Maxim Vengerov. She had the opportunity to play many concerts in Switzerland (Menuhin Gstaad Festival, Luna Classics Festival, Victoria Hall Geneva, Tonhalle St.Gallen) Poland (Solidarity of Arts), Italy (Pietrasanta in Concerto, Incontri in Terra di Siena) Israel (Vengerov Festival), Macedonia (Ohrid Summer Festival) as a member and soloist of the Menuhin Camerata.

Sofia is fluent in English and French.
